Marist Brothers High School Darlinghurst

Old Boys' Union

  Blue & Blue

  August, 2011

On the centennial of the opening of the school, a lunch for the MBHS Darlinghurst Old Boys' Union was held, July 11, 2011, and the MBHSDOBU was officially amalgamated with Marist College Canberra Old Boys' Association. The men who had officiated over the OBU for the preceding century had obviously done a great job to maintain it so well, for so long and, with the ageing membership, it was deemed best to amalgamate the Union with that of the school which inherited the Blue & Blue colours when Darlo closed in 1968, Marist College Canberra Old Boys' Association.  MCCOBA

I saw it written recently that MBHSD no longer exists. MBHSD exists for those men who continue to hold Darlo as an integral part of their own existence.

A MBHS Darlinghurst Old Boys Reunion will be held at the Rugby Club next July, 2012. It will be the 50th. anniversary of the Class of 1962. The mass is to be arranged and details of both will follow. As far as many, if not all, who attended the lunch of July 11th, 2011 are concerned, Darlo Old Boys will continue until the last man standing. The OBU has ceased operations; the Old Boys have not.
