Gentlemen,

I was politely but justly reproached recently by one of the old boys for lack of progress with the B&B and the MBHSD website.

‘My apologies.

An emergency meeting was held with some senior Old Boys. I’ve taken a cut in salary as Gatekeeper of MBHSD …. from zero to sub-zero.

As advised in the B&B of August 2011, the Annual Luncheon for the MBHSD OBU has been booked for July 11th, 2012 at the Rugby Club to follow 10.30 a.m. mass at St Patricks, which Fr. Paul Chandler then kindly accepted to celebrate, subject to his availability in 2012.

The MB Darlinghurst Alumni Assn. was formed some months thereafter, from which you would have received correspondence recently, not to be confused with the MB Darlinghurst Old Boys’ Union.

I’d like to thank all those who have already confirmed their attendance. For those who haven’t done so and wish to attend, please do so as soon as possible so that preparations may be made well in advance. Deposits for reservations shall be required prior to the luncheon.

This year it will be the 50th anniversary of the *Class of 1962.

While awaiting legal opinions on the status of MBHS Darlinghurst Old Boy’s Union, an emergency motion was passed at a recent meeting of senior Old Boys. Bill Halcro sprang into action. He’s taking the vote of the meeting to John McCauley for his answer on his nomination as interim Chairman.

Bill Halcro volunteered to be interim Secretary. Both positions are only until the Old Boys’ Annual Meeting on July 11th 2012 when the confusion over the status and future of the OBU will be decided definitively.

The MBHS OBU never has been a legally registered body and only ever existed for the fraternity of the Old Boys.

The next edition of B&B will be forthcoming asap.

Kym Derriman
